This classic play by Henrik Ibsen, he pioneered modern realistic prose drama. In the character of Nora, we find human struggle epitomized against the humiliating constraints of social conformity. In Nora’s ultimate objection to a smothering marriage and life in “a doll’s house,” Ibsen shocked theater goers of the time, but also sparked conversation and themes that are still extremely relevant and relatable today.
